The Volunteer Inn, as you might expect, plays an important part at the centre of the Great Somerford community, a delightful village not far from Malmesbury.

Generations of locals have enjoyed the comfortable surroundings at the pub over the years. And when Arkell's took over in 2007, they preserved the tradition of what everyone wants from their local, country pub, namely: home-cooked, affordable food, well kept ales and a good selection of wines, plus, of course, a friendly welcome.

Indeed, only one thing has changed, apart from a spot of re-decorating, and that is the introduction of Arkell's award-winning beers.
